GNP Realty Partners challenged the Design Team to redefine and reinvigorate an existing lobby within the existing Realtor Building along the famous and prominent Magnificent Mile in Chicago. By removing a major structural column and repositioning the main entry and pedestrian traffic flow, the team was able to open up the building’s entire corner. This design decision allowed the ability to prominently showcase a dramatic 25’ tall by 16’ curved pane of glass. The curved geometry flows from the exterior inward, flowing everyday users seamlessly daily. From a functionality standpoint, the geometry allows for increased security with improved visibility and transparency to all open spaces for security guards.
